The Design And Implementation Of The Multimedia Guidance Case Learning System On Silverlight

Guidance case is a type of learning scheme which is organized by teachers based on the students' cognitive level of knowledge and experience to guide students to engage in knowledge-construction on their own initiative. As a new teaching model, guidance case teaching mode subverts the cramming method of teaching in traditional education, gives full play to the subjectivity of students and really solves the contradictions between teaching and learning.Currently a series of researches on the guidance case teaching mode have been carried out, but there still exist four problems as follows. Firstly, the studies on guidance case are almost from teachers' summary and introspection about their own teaching experience and lack systematic research achievements in practice. Secondly, the form of guidance case's content is single and most guidance case are mainly designed on paper. The electronic version of guidance case is also presented in the form of single media as text or PPT. This situation makes guidance case fail to fully integrated with multimedia and seriously restrict the students' interest in learning. Thirdly, the guidance case teaching mode is not fully combined with online education. The finished products of guidance case are rarely on the internet and the qualities are uneven. Lastly, the studies of guidance case are mainly about how teachers do guide-teaching, but short of how to feedback and analysis the learning effect of students, and how students learn in time with the guidance case.In view of the above problems, this paper designed and implemented the learning system of multimedia guidance case as September 1st net educational resources service cloud platform provides users and data resource. The multimedia guidance case is combined with various forms of media resources, such as picture, video, audio, test question, DOC, PPT, SWF animation, web pages, and so on.The main research works and technological achievements of this paper are as follows:(1) The conceptual model of the interaction between teachers and students is put forward based on guidance case teaching mode. In order to solve the technical barriers of playback quality caused by transmission or playing a large number of contents, this paper uses Silverlight as development platform.(2) The parser of multimedia guidance case is designed to parse the description file of guidance case.(3) The multimedia guidance case player based on Silverlight is designed and implemented. The player supports to play picture, video, audio, examination questions, DOC, PPT, SWF animation, web pages, and other formats of media resource.(4) The system has the interactive functions such as question answering, taking notes, asking questions and so on. These features will feedback students' learning results to teachers, so that teachers can grasp the learning progress of each student, monitor students' learning effect anytime, and then adjust the classroom teaching activities so as to improve teaching efficiency and learning efficiency.In summary, the multimedia guidance case learning system based on Silverlight perfectly achieves the combination of guidance case teaching mode and Internet technology, provides convenient and efficient teaching means based on information technology for schools and teachers, stimulates students' interest in learning, improves the efficiency of teachers' teaching quality and students' learning, and thus facilitates the innovation of education teaching idea and accelerates the process of the development of education informatization construction in our country.
