| With the rapid development of society, science and technology, both people’s living standard and household appliances have been greatly improved. However, the traditional household appliances own much inconvenience because they are controlled singly without efficient concentrated controlled net. The common family customers can hardly afford the price and power dissipations of the existing smart home system in the market, so it is essential to design a smart home gateway software with low-cost, low-power and convenient-operation.This paper designs a software of embedded smart home gateway controlling based on ARM11which has the function of home appliance controlling, security monitoring, friendly video and images sharing. With the modular design, this software decreases coupling degree of modularized programs with different functions, making it more convenient to realize, debug and maintain programs. This paper mainly contains the following details:(1) Household appliances controlled by voice:MSP20voice recognition platform changes the local voice data picked up by the system into texts, analyses and matches them to ensure the validity of consumers’ voice orders. When the voice order works, the controlling order can be sent to household appliances through ZigBee. Besides, this software supports hand-held terminal accessing. It can correspond and handle according to the texts or orders hand-held terminal send to realize Household appliances controlling.(2) Remote video surveillance:This paper takes BOA as Web servicer and builds B/S net. Using H264standards to compress the video surveillance picked up by USB camera, this gateway software then transfers the compressed videos to remote client according to RTP/RTCP agreement so that the remote client can watch through Web browser directly.(3) Images and videos sharing:This gateway software first gets the video or picture files from the server, and then uses the S3C6410hardware to decode video or picture files and displays them via VGA interface.Experimental results show that this gateway software provides higher accuracy and simpler operation for voice control of home appliances. Its images of remote video surveillance are smooth and clear, and its effect of decoding videos and pictures is good. Meanwhile, its sharing features are wonderful, so it is suitable for applications to smart home system. The features of this software meets users’ personalize needs, and it is easy to extend and upgrade system with low cost, which makes it easy to be spread. |
