With the continuous development of China’s cable TV network, radio and television business are more and more. After the city’s cable television network integration, from decentralized management to centralized management of change, the number of users has expanded from the tens of thousands of households to millions of users. Rely on the traditional system of drawing management mode has been unable to meet the requirement, cannot meet the present and future broadcasting business development and demand. There is an urgent need for a new management mode to optimize cyber source management.The system uses GIS technology, based on the geographical coordinates or spatial location of the variety of spatial data processing, the relationship between attribute and spatial data are effectively combined to research entity. It can text shows to the user according to the actual request. Also can directly reflect the network situation, this will solve the existing problems, thus greatly facilitate the analysis of the network planning and management.Base on the problem for the radio and television cyber source management in the work, and through the detailed investigation and analysis, summarized the requirements from radio resource management. Starting from the functions according to requirements, description for function and performance and safety in detail, then it designed of CATV network management system based on GIS on the basis of the demand analysis. The design includes Summary of design, the design of each module of the system function and database design. The main functions include project management, warehouse management network planning and management and system management etc. Finally, radio and television network management system is developed based on Map GIS.This system realizes the physical resource management and visualization of logical resources, forming the integration of attribute data and graphic data. Thus it improved the management capacity and service quality. It also reduced the service cost to provided efficient services for network management. In the practical application process, greatly improve the management level and efficiency of cyber source.
