The development of automated production line also has become one of necessary trends of technology development in the current automation field with fast development of domestic manufacturing and wide application of programmable controller technology, field bus technology and configuration technology. However, domestic colleges and universities, especially vocational colleges for training front-line operation and technical personnel with high-quality and high skills, are generally lack of laboratory equipment suitable for teaching. There is a greater gap between graduate post fit rate and actual industrial mine enterprise demand rate. This paper designs automatic production line experiment platform based on Profibus aiming at the prominent problem.The automated production line experiment platform adopts Siemens S7-300series PLC as the control device. Profibus network is used for forming a distributed control system. The production process includes the follows:the workpieces are sent to the material platform through the pushing cylinder, and then the workpieces are punched and sent to the assembly station after the completion of punching. Two small column components (white and black) are respectively inserted into the workpieces on the assembly station here. The finished products are transported to the sorting unit for sorting and output finally.The design process of the experiment platform works design into three levels. Firstly, each slave station has a single station operating mode. Firstly, each slave station has a single station operating mode. The master signal and working station signal of each unit are controlled by independent PLC to ensure stable and reliable operation of the equipment. Then, it can be networked into whole line operation mode through the Profibus field-bus. Finally, MCGS configuration software is selected to implement man-machine interface configuration, and real-time monitoring of the entire automatic production line is completed. The entire automated production line experiment platform is very close to the actual production line, and can be used for the practical teaching of vocational schools. It also can be used for external training.
