The current years have witnessed information technology has gradually come close to our lives and exerted a significant influence in our work patterns. Since the middle of1990’s, OA has entered a stage of rapid development and started to involve in the realm of China’s higher education. OA system, as a foundation of the informationization of the university and college management, can be considered as a uniting process of integrating, improving and digitalizing the management of the modern office. More importantly, as the world market has gradually evolved from the traditional relatively stability into a complex dynamic, OA research has extended to workflow management. Workflow-based OA system, to some degree, will contribute to better adapt to the characteristics of office automation system, so that it has a good dynamic and strong vitality.The research on OA system has been increasingly gotten attentions by scholars at home and abroad, while, the theses on the arts institute rarely can be found. Thus, the essay aims to investigate and design an OA system of Guangxi Arts Institute on basis of workflow, which will not only enable to meet the demands of administrative office and information management of Guangxi Arts Institute, but also develop the investigation of OA system.This dissertation starts with the introduction of the motivation and significance of the topic; Then, based on analyzing status quo of concerned studies, the construction of a fundamental theoretical frame, as well as the relevant methodologies, The second section of this dissertation puts emphasis on researching the case of OA system of Guangxi Arts Institute including demand analysis, system design and UML modeling; In the end, taken two workflows of OA system in use for instance, the dissertation intends to explore how the platform of workflows exerts a great influence in transforming files.
