Nowadays, with the improvement of living standard, food safety becomes moreand more important to various circles of society. Food safety is not only related topeople’s living quality, but also the lifeblood of the food company for their survival anddevelopment. The most important issue to address is how to keep the freshness of foodduring the process of production, transportation and retailing. So far refrigeratedtransportation is the most commonly used method to keep the quality and safety of foodby maintaining a relatively low temperature for perishable or fresh food duringtransportation. With the development of refrigerated transportation for years, aninformation management platform is demanding by more and more companies toimprove their management level and efficiency.Here, we designed and fulfilled an information management system based on B/Sstructure, which may be used by refrigerated transportation companies to improve theirmanagement efficiency. According to the characteristic of the refrigerated transportation,UML method was used to perform requirement analysis of system function, and varioustechniques for software development were compared. Finally,3-tier architecture wasemployed and developed by C#. In designing the system, UML was used to establish amodel for analysis and design, ASP.NET3-tier architecture was used for systemstructure, and class diagram model and backstage database were made. In fulfilling thesystem, techniques related to the system function were studied, and the fulfillment of3-tier architecture and page style were described in detail. In the description, we mainlyfocused on the application of ADO.NET data requesting, saving, and transferringbetween pages, and GDI+graphics technology in the system.This system could solve the problem which may occur to a transportation cargoduring the process of information management, food management, and temperaturemeasurement. This system could help company to record any information gathered fromthe transportation process, and automatically transfer the temperature data to thebackstage database for information management. The temperature data will be shown ina curve, and the system operator could observe the temperature change in thetransportation cargo directly from the curve. We could say that this system is a practical information management system forrefrigerated transportation due to its clear design, simple operation and elegantappearance. This system would greatly help enterprise to improve managing level,enhance service quality and increase company’s competitiveness.
