With the emergence of the mobile internet and cloud computing technology, theexisting desktop public transportation inquiry system can no longer meet the needs ofusers’ getting bus information on the move, which greatly hampers the development ofpublic transportation. So the development of the public transportation inquiry systembased on intelligent mobile devices has an important practical significance.This article firstly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the bus inquirysystem at home and abroad, introducing the latest Android Smart phone platform andkey technology of back-end server Web Service, This article bases on the Androidplatform and implements a mobile public transportation inquiry system, using theEclipse to complete. The client software using Java development language and followthe standard J2SE, the server use S2SH framework to complete the construction of Webservices, the client and server communicate by the standard HTTP protocol. Thissystem is divided into two main subsystems: user inquiry system and administrators’management system, including the following main aspects:(1) Transfer inquiryfunction. Users input the starting station and obtain the corresponding travel schema;they can choose the suitable travel proposal by their own needs.(2) Station inquiry andline inquiry function. Users input the site or line name and they can obtain the detailedinformation of the site or line.(3) My location function. This function mainly makesusers locate their current location at any time and show on the map.(4) Symboliclocation inquiry function. Users input the famous scenic spots and the building nameand they can acquire the picture and the text messages of the site, also the trafficinformation of this point and the nearby bus station, the line information.(5) Thenetwork management system. Which main aim is when bus network informationchanged, they can update maintenance system timely.Finally, Carrying out a detailed system interface testing, functional testing andperformance testing, all the indexes satisfy the system requirements, achieving the goalof mobile transit information service for the public mobile bus inquiry system.
