In today’s era of rapid development of knowledge-based economy, as the distributioncenter of civilization of human knowledge, it is necessary for libraries to seek morecompetitive way on the basis of traditional knowledge service in order to conform to the trendof keeping substantial development, to meet user’s growing demand for personalizedknowledge under the network environment. Social recommendation is based on user’snetwork of relationships, using of social networks or social media, recommendatting orsharing of knowledge content through the user’s social group behavior. It combined with theconcept of user-centered on the premise of information recommendation.The originalintention is using the technology to quickly locate user’s requirement, taking the initiative torecommend to the user information or knowledge of their interest. As the new darling of theWeb2.0era, social recommendation its highly intelligent, personalized and personalizedservice by favor of users in a number of areas, such as: e-commerce, search engine, e-learningsystems, etc. Introduced to study in the library knowledge service is bound to have a veryimportant academic value and practical significance.In this paper, in the context of the knowledge economy and network environment,research status of social recommendation and library knowledge service at home and abroadto do a detailed analysis and elaboration. Introduced connotation, characteristics and mode oflibrary knowledge service, combined with the current situation, it proposes library knowledgeservice existing few points problems,to be filled and improved by the advantages of socialrecommended. In addition, the article in-depth analyzes the connotation of socialrecommendation, the working principle and application areas, and from the following fiveaspects: user needs, economic, technical, operational and practical, it profoundly expositingthe feasibility of social recommendation used in the library knowledge service. With web datamining, SNS, social tags, recommender systems and heterogeneous database integrationtechnology, it builds the library knowledge service platform model based on socialrecommendation and gives the systematic interpretation of the model. Summarized theimportant value of social recommendation applied to library knowledge service from fiveaspects: the knowledge service initiative, system structure of knowledge resources, tacitknowledge exchange and sharing, knowledge innovation and lifelong learning. Finally, thepaper makes the summary and forecast about application prospects of the topic.
