Education is the decisive factor for thriving of a nation, we have stressed to attach importance to education, to reform and improve the system of education, to increase financial input to the education career. There is no denying the fact that led to the current higher education in our country to the attention of the education enterprise’s prosperity and development, however, with the number of university students, the school is a huge surge in education quality, the overall decline of students’ quality, academic atmosphere, and the question of management system in colleges and universities. As an important part of education, journalism education is also facing the same problems and challenges.Nearly a century of journalism education has been booming, China now has more than300colleges and universities has a journalism major, behind the boom, however, there are many problems. Journalism education is like a machine, only the parts are intact and cooperate with the tacit understanding, can finish the work smoothly. Has long been the study of journalism education in China mainly concentrated in the journalism education system of the origin of the history, system, policy, curriculum, etc., for journalism textbooks and rarely involved. Journalism teaching material is an important element to ensure the quality of journalism education, is the bridge to put knowledge into practice, is the key to improve the teaching effect.America is a place where journalism education rise and prosperity, in exploring and developing unceasingly, has accumulated many experiences can be used for reference. Gibbs waiting of the News Writing tutorials-how to mining the complete story three American journalism textbooks comparison research, journalism textbooks of China and the United States to find out what are the differences, and then discuss why there is this difference, in the final analysis what American journalism experience is worth our using for reference.To this end, this thesis will analyze in more detail in chapter1the journalism teaching materials development present situation and the educational world research status. Then, in chapter2describes the related teaching material view and also teaching evaluation dimensions. From chapter3and chapter4chapter author identity, program setting, writing style, teaching material content of the history of China and the United States and the newsroom materials made a comprehensive comparison of the two chapters is the centre content of this article. Chapter5for journalism textbooks to deep analysis the cause of differences of China and the United States, combined with the actual situation and students habits of thinking and accept ability in our country, put forward to improve China’s journalism teaching method, promote the development of journalism education with Chinese characteristics.
