With the rapid growth of scientific data, the data storage platforms for the institutes need greater storage capacity, the rapid acquisition of data, the flexible storage model, new ways of data sharing and collaborative work. Cloud storage technology can help IT professionals better solve this problem. Based on the research of key technology on cloud storage environment, in order to meet the demands of data storage, data sharing and collaborative work for scientists and team members, this paper designs a set of cloud storage system and provides a new service mode.Based on the background of Cloud and analysis of the practical application of key technology, including internet products, this paper references SNIA-released CDMI (Cloud Data Management Interface) standard to design the cloud storage platform for institutes. The current popular cloud storage platforms are induced and summarized, combined with research of Data storage and sharing. Furthermore, file storage system, data sharing way, user version control and user data interface are analyzed, then this paper designs the application system supporting multiple-client cloud storage, which can finally meet the demand of "private clouds" storage applications.Practical results show that the proposed cloud storage application system can improve data storage environment on those institutes, and provide data storage, data sharing, and data service environment for scientific research work, achievinging the target service model to meet storage demand.
