Recent years, with the spread of information technology, computer technology, video and image processing technology has been improved, video surveillance are becoming more widely penetrated into government agencies, science education, entertainment, health, events, and other fields. Video surveillance is also moving from the analog video surveillance gradually toward intelligence, networking, digital video surveillance direction. In order to become intelligent video surveillance systems, which generally consist of video acquisition terminal, the server and client.Firstly, the paper briefly describes the general framework of video surveillance systems, on the basis, and then introduces video surveillance client involved in the development of theoretical knowledge of related technologies, including Flex technology, streaming media technology, streaming media servers, video compression coding technology and multimedia communications technology.Secondly, the paper focuses on the video player module, this module is mainly related processes to achieve video player, the server receives data packets transmitted over RTP, it should first unpack the RTP packets for H.264-encoded data, then it will be RTMP video stream data packet, which then pushed RTMP packets to Red5streaming media server, and finally through the Flex client and server to establish RTMP connection by VideoDisplay decoding playback. Using Flex technology, the main advantage of this design is the monitoring of video decode and play the client is relatively simple, clear streams, and the design elegant interface.Finally, the paper mainly introduced with Flex technology, design the client interface, including user registration login module, video player module and other key functions.
