University Teaching Material Information "Passbook" Management System Design And Implementation

There are several university textbook information management modes,including stand-alone and network version, client mode and web mode, localand remote database schema, sharing and independent models for educationadministration systems etc. Under current reform situation of universities, thedevelopment of innovative management mode is essential to meet the variousrequirements of management of textbooks. When designing a textbook managementsystem, some factors should be considered including database using method, dataaccessing mode, client accessing mode, operating procedures, school management, andso on. The limitations of existing textbook management system are data unsharingbetween textbook management and education administration management, thecomplexity of billing operation, the opacity of information of booking, distribution andutilizing textbooks, difficulties of managing special textbooks.In this thesis, a study toward the textbook management mode of a large amount ofcolleges and universities and the actual need of our school is conducted. A "book" typeof textbook management is proposed: textbook certificates are issued as the way bankdeposit book works in order to compile the functions of booking, issuing, searching andbilling. The system was developed and put into service successfully in2010. The criticaltechnique of this approach makes the data sharing between textbook management andeducation administration management, the formation of textbook catalog according toeducation task, the print of receipt after issuing textbooks, the function of querytextbook using status and billing information for students using campus network, themanagement of special textbooks a reality.The management mode we proposed, using textbook certificate and its critical code,can inspire and guide administrators and code developers in colleges and universities.
