USB (Universal Serial BUS) is a criterion of external bus which is mainly applied in thespecification of the connection and communication between the computer and externaldevices. The USB interface supports the PNP and hot-swap functions of the device. With thepopularization of USB3.0, it becomes widely used in various fields of application.In the digital ink-jet printer, the DTS (Data Transmission System) mainly has thefunctions of image data transmission from the host computer to the digital ink-jet printer,image data buffer, and coordination of print head control etc. Thus the data transmissionspeed directly influences the print speed and precision. The digital ink-jet printer DTSdesigned in this paper adopts cycloneⅡ EP2C8Q208C8as master board and CYUSB3014chip as USB3.0standard peripheral communication interface, so as to realizes the high-speeddata transmission and the advantages of fast jet drawing, high resolution, reliable systemoperation, etc.This paper carefully studies and summarizes the former DTS of the digital ink-jet printer,and realizes that after the USB2.0DTS design and the speed-raising, the data transmissionspeed is still hardly improved and the print speed is severely affected. So the DTS withUSB3.0as its core is promoted in this paper, and the CYUSB3014chip of Cypress Companyis adopted, so as to further improve the data transmission speed of digital ink-jet printerthrough synchronous Slave FIFO auto transmission mode. And then the jet drawing speed andprecision is greatly improved.According to the practical need of the development of digital ink-jet printing machine,this thesis mainly studies how to make data transmission between PC and FPGA via USB3.0.This thesis has conducted adequate studies on the transmission interface of the digital ink-jetprinting machine and further improves the transmission speed of image data through replacingthe2.0interface by the3.0interface on the existed basis of the former one. This thesis alsointroduces the communication protocol of USB3.0interface data transmission, makes detailedanalysis on the block transmission, and proposes the connection between USB3.0high-speeddata communications processor CYUSB3014and cycloneⅡ EP2C8Q208C8. The workingprinciple and development process of the latest Microsoft device driver framework WDF arealso expounded. The main tasks are as follows: first, combine with FPGA and design the USBdata communication system with CYUSB3014as the core; second, design and implement the firmware program of the connection between Slave FIFO and FPGA through Eclipse; andfinally accomplish the design of USB device driver through WDF.
