With the rapid development of computer technology, USB storage devicesbecome essential removable storage devices in the daily life because of itsplug-and-play, compact and easy to carry, reliable performance, transmission speedadvantages of removable storage and so on. The U-disk’s storage medium securityrequirements are also increasing because of the occurance of a range of data leakagewith the use of U-disk.Firstly, the paper analyzes the U-disk security threats in the field of informationstorage and security problems and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of Udisk control and protection from hardware and software.Secondly, this paper put forward the U-disk Control and Management System(UCMS) which was based on the virtual disk. The UCMS achieves the secure storageand management of U disk through the common U-disk encryption U-disk productioninto a special format to overcome the existing lack of secure storage control andmanagement research for U-disk. Authentication and transparent data encryption anddecryption integraged into this system, which also provide a safety lock and applicationpacked function. Followed by, the article describes the UCMS overall design processmainly including U-disk format design, U-disk identification module design, dataencryption/decryption design and U-disk management module design. The U-diskformat design and the U plate recognition module design make the encryption U-disk innon UCMS system and the common U-disk in UCMS system not to be identified. Dataencryption/decryption module achieve transparent data encryption/decryption with thevirtual disk driver and the U disk management modules provide users with a graphicalmanagement tool.Finally, the article presents the implementation process of the UCMS systemcombining UCMS systems overall design, and completes the design of the encryptionU-disk format, U-disk identification module, data encryption and decryption moduleand a graphical interface management module. Functional tests of the system after itsimplementation of the graphical management interface show that it is able to achievethe overall design of the set of transparent authentication and data encryption anddecryption functions.
