The adaptive optics system can effectively correct wavefront error brought by theatmosphere turbulence. However, the random and high-speed change of atmospheremakes the design of adaptive optics system very difficult, which includes the bigamount of calculation when do wavefront processing. The traditional wavefrontprocessing computer is implemented by network of analogous circuit, which featuresby low-latency, lack of accuracy and flexibility. Nowadays the wavefront processingcomputer is designed by DSP and it have high latency for the low performance ofDSP’s calculation. The system is designed by Four TI’s high-performance TMS320C6678, whichruns at the peak speed of1280GMAC per second and limits the delay-time below0.1ms. The system is comprised of high-speed serial interface for data transmissionand architecture of distributed topology. Meanwhile, we use the methods ofinner-frame pipeline processing, inter-current processing, matrix partition processingand parallel processing to fulfill slope calculation, wavefront construction, controllingcalculation when do wavefront processing and greatly improve the system’sperformance. The article also includes hardware design, such as power design, design of FPGAand DSP interface and system clock design. The system also have a universal propertyfor it can do many high-performance processing with the help of a image-acquisitioncard. The PCB design and emulation of signal integrity are accomplished at the end ofthe article.
