Along with high-definition television gradual popularization, digital televisionplays an increasingly important role in the information industry, and it is not onlyitself has a vast market, but also it is to promote electronic information industrystructure to adjusting and upgrading, it can promote other related industries todevelop, and lead to a new social change, and to promote the way people’s live andwork. In such a huge change,it is have the VOD system composed the TV and STB.The traditional form of VOD system is often through a combination of digitaltelevisions and STB to implement VOD system, according to the limitations, todesign the VOD system in the LAN, which to a extent solve problems of installationand network conditions, therefore, this study is more practical significance.VOD system is based MStar platform (988Haier TV kernel) design achieved,the system is functionally divided into three modules: player, browser and theterminal display. The LAN for data transmission state, terminal display systemexecut program according to the user’s operation, if resource information exists inthe server, it is queried from the database out through the network to the terminaldisplay, and the terminal will displays the resource. Player is throught RTSP andIGMP to solve the problem of real-time transmission of media files, and organizemedia player application, and to provide upper layer interface; browser modulemainly role is to process and analyze HTML and JavaScript, directly user pagedisplay, and built-in player for audio and video playback; terminal display module ispresented to the customer’s information (live, on-demand, graphics and otherinformation) through HTML, CSS and PHP language, customer interaction ishandled via Javascript, and the result of user action displayed through the pages.This article is mainly through the above techniques and principles for the designand implementation of the system, each module is individually coded and compiledreuse rate, low coupling. After a long period of extensive testing including thewhole system functionality testing and performance testing, analysis of test results,it is obtained in this system has high practicability and feasibility features.
