With the development of economy and the communication technology in ourcountry, Radio and measurement technology has been used more and more widely inthose fields of wireless local area network, satellite communications, mobile, geologicalprospecting, the deep space exploration, location, sonar, radar, electronic warfare, etc.Array signal processing technology in spatial domain signal analysis and processing hasa unique advantage, it has become an important means of wireless communication anddirection finding. The technology and equipment of array signal processing have beeninvestigated and used intensively in the world. A fundamental problem in array signalprocessing is to get the position and direction of a plurality of space target signal ofa region of space at the same time, Therefore, we need to collect and analyzethe spatial signals using antenna array, Acquisition, At this time, Signal at the sampling,processing and transmission of the traditional single channel is not suitablefor traditional of signal has not applicable. But we need to sample and process arraysignal which we received in the different spatial locations. Some array antenna systemshave hundreds of array elements, and others have tens of thousands of array elements(for example SBX: America sea-based x-band radar). So the data which we sample andprocess will be greatly. Now how to extract useful information more effectively fromthe space array signal? This problem has become an important factor restricting thedevelopment of radar technology. Not only this, With the development ofmodern network technology, especially the development and needs ofthe cloud computing and large data storage, The processing and transmission of largecapacity data have put forward higher requirement, The data transmission rate in theend to end network has reached more than100Mbps. How to achieve the real-time andhigh-speed transmission of data between the card and the processor? The problem hasbecome the bottleneck of system performance.We consider the existence question and actual demand in the above, the paper aimsto complete the research and design of array signal processing system based onPCI-E, the main research work is as follows:(1) In this paper, we introduces the structure of a high speed PCI-E interface andthe protocol of PCI-E bus, And proves the application value and the realizationof technology of high speed PCI-E bus in array signal processing. So we used the PCI-E interface to the array signal processing system, as a bridge of high speedcommunication between the PCI-E board and PC board.(2) Starting from the research background of array signal processingtechnology, we specify the array signal processing technique in actual application value.At the same time, we also introduced the signal model and the basic model of arrayantenna in array processing system. On this basis, we focus on the research of thealgorithm in array signal processing (For example: DOA algorithm and beam-formingalgorithm).(3) In the above theory, we research and design of the array signal processing cardbased on PCI-E interface, the objective is tested and applied the array signalprocessing theory in Engineering. In the card, we used four A/D chips to collect thesignal which is received by the array antenna. We sent these data into FPGA andprocess them. Finally we put the result to the PC host for display. The array signalprocessing system board is mainly composed of the following components:①powermodule;②clock module;③data sampling module;④FPGA and configurationmodule;⑤data storage module⑥PCI-E interface module.
