The safe and reliable working condition of the electric equipment is essential to thesustained and efficient electricity production of the hydropower plant. And the niceoperation condition mainly depends on the equipment overhaul and maintenance.However, the traditional overhaul and maintenance cannot adapt to the new situations. Thecondition based maintenance is put on the schedule.The data acquisition system is a significant step in the condition based maintenanceof equipment. The performance of the acquisition system can affect the results of thecondition based maintenance very much. Through the analysis of the acquisition theoryand data sources, we designed a data acquisition system nested with high precisionanalog-digital conversion and Ethernet communication module. This system realizes thedata acquisition and output of the testing signals very well.According to the requirement of the data acquisition in the hydropower plant, thispaper selected proper DSP chip and completed the design of the power supply module,clock signal generating circuit; And the high precision A/D chip and switch acquisitionchips are extended based on the requirement of the data precision; In the mean time, weused the chip W5100for design of the Ethernet communication to meet the requirement ofthe data communication.Based on the CCS3.3platform, this paper exploited the data acquisition systemsoftware, and designed the main program, initialization program and CMD document.Also, we analyzed the interruption control system and processes and wrote the taskscheduler. Finally, the Ethernet communication is achieved by the programming of theSocket port.Through the testing, the functions and performance of this system can fully meet thepractical requirement.
