FCoE protocol is aimming at decreasing the cost of maintenance by mixing FC SANand TCP/IP network together, while protecting the previous investment of FC SAN users.In the FCoE system, Fabric is the network which connects server and storage device,server and server. Fabric Configureation is used to assign each swich a Domain ID toidentify them.Fabric Configuration’s Configuration Management part provides a series of interface,including setting network parameters manually part, displaying network paramenters,launching network reconfiguration, for network administrators to configure the parametersof switches before assigning Domain ID to make the Domain ID assignment under control.Configuration Management part uses socket for communication between processes, anduses epoll for multiplexing. In the distributed structure, configuration management patuses channel management that keeps the sequence between sending and receiving,chooses channel based on how many boards needs to be synchronized to guarantee highefficiency, and implements statistic of sending and receiving to guarantee reliability ofsynchronization.Design and implementation of Configuration Management is in the light of devicesof Cisco and H3C on the premise of following FCoE standard published by ANSI.Configuration Management explains how network changes when parament changes fornetwork administrator.
