Digital television terrestrial broadcasting (DTTB) is an important part of thepresent digital television broadcasting system and also a hot researching spot in thefield of digital television, which makes the car TV and portable TV possible. At thesame time,because of the development of the software radio and the programmabledevice, how to make full use of the programmable logic devices to realize thebase-band processing for DVB-T transmitter is the key point in the present research.The thesis carried out an in-depth research on it. The main research contents include:FPGA design of channel coding for DVB-T system: Channel coding includesenergy diffuse, RS encoder, convolutional interleaver, convolutional encoder andinner interleaver. Then according to the DVB-T standard, the writer detailedly analysethe principle of each module, determine algorithm and propose the hardware designbased on FPGA. In order to avoid the S/P and P/S conversion to increases circuitcomplexity, the energy diffusion use PRBS generator in parallel. RS code uses thescheme based on polynomial division for receiver decoding. In inner interleaver, dataaccess uses RAM instead of FIFO, which saves the resource of register.FPGA design of modulation and frame structure for DVB-T system: Modulationincludes constellation mapping and OFDM modulation. The frame structure includesdiscrete pilot insertion, continuous pilot insertion and TPS insertion. On the basis ofanalyzing the principle of each module,the writer proposes the hardware design basedon FPGA. For OFDM modulation, there are two traditional design based onFPGA,which are pipeline structure and storage structure.After analyzing andcomparing the advantages and disadvantages of them, the writer finally used IP coreto complete OFDM modulation.After making sure of the feasibility, we use Verilog to code, and in the ISE tosimulate. Finally, we connect each modular to do validation test, and download thecode to the Virtex-II Pro development board. The simulation and test results verify thefeasibility and effectiveness of the design, which also has the advantage of conservingresources.
