A Design Of ISDN Gateway Based On MTCA And Soft Switch

Along with the rapid development of communications technology in recent years, the concept of"network integration" is also mentioned and attention by more and more people. Multi network fusionhas two meanings at the technical level, one is the" access fusion" between control network andinformation network based on the IP protocol, the other is the "information fusion" between thesubsystem network. Next generation network (NGN) is a multi network fusion product, it canprovide a variety of including media, audio, data and other business in open network, while the softexchange system has been considered as the key technology to realize NGN. In2005, PICMGproposed the MTCA architecture specification based on ATCA, then MTCA is becoming a researchhotspot.This paper presents a design of ISDN gateway based on MTCA. the gateway is designed to realizethe ISDN network access to IP network and information fusion. it is designed by VOIP processorMindSpeed M82515that the core are based on ARM and DSP.It can support4ISDN2B+D basicinterface access. Hardware designed based on the MTCA standard and AMC standard, can work in astandard MTCA chassis.The system adopts embedded real time operating system VxWorks. Then develop the ISDNprotocol and SIP protocol based on it. Realized the ISDN signaling and SIP signaling interactionmapping and designed the ISDN terminal and SIP terminal basic call process. The SIP protocol isdeveloped based on the Osip2and eXosip protocol stack.At present, the work tha hardware and software design and debugging of the gateway has beencompleted. through IP network access by the MTCA chassis, Realized the call between standardISDN terminal and SIP terminal.
