Currently,Triple-Network Convergence is an important tendency of the networkdevelopment. The access network is one of the key components to implement Triple-Network Convergence. A new access technology called High Performance Network OverCoax (HINOC) is studied in this paper. It uses the existing coaxial cable distributionnetwork of Cable Television (CATV) to offer High-speed Internet access ability.Based on the analysis of the HIMAC protocol, the design and implementation ofMAC signaling protocol in HINOC network is studied deeply in the paper. Major workincludes two parts. Firstly, the process flow diagram of MAC signaling protocol isdesigned in detail by using the Formalism Description Language SDL/MSC based onthe professional communication software design platform-Telelogic Tau SDL Suite, andthe whole signaling interaction of the Signaling Protocol is simulated and verifiedfurther; The work of simulation shows that the design of the signaling protocol abovecan accomplish the normal signaling interactive functions. It also can deal with theabnormal conditions correctly. On this basis, the integrated MAC signaling protocolsoftware is designed and developed by using a real HINOC system prototype platformin the paper, and the signal processing work of HINOC system is implemented; Thedebugging and test results indicate that what design and development of HIMACsignaling protocol can implement the normal signaling interactions and deal withabnormal conditions, and it also pass the conformance testing of the test prototype, which verified the correctness and effectiveness of the design and development protocolfurther.
