Content-based Multimedia Database Intellectual Retrieval Methods And Implementation

With the rapid development of computer technology and communication technology, thefunction of information increases in daily life, and it has become an important method ofmarket competition. Because multimedia data can make the content of the information morerich and vivid, so it is an important carrier of information, the multimedia data is differentfrom the traditional structured data because of its characteristics,such as large amount of data,wide varieties and unstructured data, which leads some restrictions on the management andretrieval by using traditional database, so the study on how to mange multimedia data andachieve effective retrieval has important theoretical and practical value.Multimedia database is a database technology to meet the multimedia data managementand retrieval needs, content-based retrieval is put forward to solve the multimedia datacontent with the characteristics of a large amount of data and content is difficult todescribe.Content-based retrieval become a hot research topic. This paper present thecharacteristics of multimedia data, multimedia database systems, the concepts and features ofcontent-based retrieval respectively, then content-based multimedia database retrievalarchitecture is given, and analyze the environment of ORACLE interMedia supportmultimedia data and content-based retrieval, combined with the characteristics ofORDImage, ORDVideo, ORDAudio, ORDImageSignature simultaneously and build the datamodel by using object-relational technology. To overcome the traditional retrieval methodswhich use single attribute, the paper combine the static and dynamic properties of multimediathrough the analysis of image, video, audio and other multimedia data and give the principleand algorithm of the multimedia retrieval, all these methods has improved the retrievalefficiency.This paper designs and implements an experimental system of content-based multimedia data intellectual retrieval of B/S mode by using the technology of J2EE and ORACLEinterMedia and implement the related algorithm.The research has achieved the expectedresults which proved by the experiments.
