Research And Application Of MultiMedia Database Retrieval Technology

Computer technology and communications technology make computer network system. Long-distance e-learning is one most important application of computer network system.This paper discuss multimedia database retrieval technology on embedded system e-learning platform.This system adopts a lax-coupling structure to build up multimedia database and its management,that's to say,using RDBMS to store and manage metadata of multimedia data and using file system to manage multimedia file,then unite both together organically.A new pinyin retrieval tree based inverted-index retrieval(PRTBIR) method was introduced to build multimedia database retrieval system.It use pinyin lookup method of Chinese dictionary to build a retrieval tree,make knowledge node as index entry of inverted-index.When system running,these index entries will be mouted to the retrieval tree as leafs.It permit repetition of index entry,use chain structure to resolve conflict of these index entries.This new method is successfully applied to the embedded system e-learning platform and it work well,some practice prove it is more efficiency and it can retrieval more detail information.This paper is composed of 4 parts,of which part 3 and 4 are emphases and difficulties:Chapter 1: Introducing database technology,SQL and it's application,multimedia database and correlative domain.Chapter 2: Introducing name based multimedia retrieval technology,text based multimedia retrieval technology and content based multimedia retrieval technology.Discussing forward index and inverted index technology.Chapter 3: Introducing a new pinyin retrieval tree based inverted-index retrieval method.Discussing build of pinyin retrieval tree and it's operate method in detail.Study it's performance in theory.Chapter 4: Introducing embedded system e-learning platform.Implementing this new method in it and realize a multimedia databae retrieval system.Compare with other retrieval methods,this new retrieval system show excellent performance.Finally,it concludes the paper.
