With the development of embedded technology and codecing technology video and image, video surveillance systems are also constantly upgrading. As of now, the video surveillance system has experienced analog video surveillance, PC-based video surveillance, and network video surveillance era. Appearance of integrated network camera also comply with this trend. It overcomes the inadequacies of the previous monitoring systems, and achieve following advantages:convenient access in the clients, network functions of monitoring systems. The integration network camera designed by this project, can conduct video capture, analog-to-digital conversion, encoding, compression operation focused on the monitoring front-end video packets sent over the network to the remote server, through the front-end integration of hardware.Operations of video acquisition, decoding, encoding and compression are concentrated on processing in front-end of video, by integrated front-end technology. Then, integrated network camera will send video data by Ethernet.Firstly, the paper describes the course of development of the video surveillance system and the status and significance of and the integration of network cameras. According to classification of the functional modules required for the integration of network cameras, its hardware is divided into core board and two extended version. After that, According to DM6446chip peripheral expansion interface required for the camera, this paper design schematics about DDR2module, Flash module, Video decoding module, Ethernet transmission module and USB interface module. At the same time, the camera hardware PCBs are designed in Prote199SE software.The core board and extended boards adopt respectively10-layer and6-layer PCB structure.Secondly, through Linesim of design schematics in Hyperlynx simulation software, this paper can obtain a set of reasonable routing rules (line width, the length of the parallel lines and termination value, etc.) to guide PCB routing. This process can basically solves PCB crosstalk, reflection, delay and electromagnetic interference of signal integrity problems. By simulation batch simnlation and interactive simulation of Boardsim, the Hyperlynx to resolve completely signal integrity issues of local signal networks, in order to shorten the design cycle and to increase the success rate of the design.Finally, after the processing of the PCB, Subsequent works are soldering, debugging and system migration. This paper has divided debugging methods into three categories, according to the complexity of the debugging modules. These categories are pure hardware testing, debugging in the CCS software and debugging in the Linux system. Also, this paper has presented the debugging methods of hardware modules, and introduced compilation processes of the Uboot, and Linux kernel and the settings of Uboot environment variables. Now, the network camera is running stable, can achieve real-time monitoring.
