With the progress of technology about information and integrate circuit, there is fast renovation involved in embedded application. The important character of embedded development is to meet the demand of diverse applications. The diversity of embedded application is associated with the diversity of hareware platform which advances the strict demand for the portability of embedded operation system. So in the embedded development, it is important to make research on the porting technology of system software with divesre hardware platforms. My thesis is to make research on the theory and technology of embedded operation system's portability with diverse hareware platforms. The portability of embedded operation system on the diverse hardware platforms mainly attributes to two aspects of the architecture of hareware platform and embedded operation system's relativity with harware. Additionally, embedded tool needs to be reconfigured to support for target hardware platform. So the paper mainly makes deep analysis about basic theories and technology from four aspects such as portability of embedded operation system, the structure of hardware platform, corresponding configuration of embedded tool and realization technology of embedded operation system's porting. In the paper, three crucial technology of embedded development enviroment configuration, core processor software driver and peripheral software driver have been solved. In the addition, the paper succeeds in porting the CRTOS II from INTEL x86 PC hardware platform to POWERPC MPC860 hardware platform. The version of CRTOS II/860 v1.0 is provided. In the paper there are six chapters. the first chapter introduces the points involved in embedded development between hareware platform and software platform, mealwhile explains the importance of portability of embedded operation system. The second chapter makes the research on the portability of CRTOS II. The third chapter discusses the target harware platform of MPC860. In the fourth chapter and the fifth chapter, the configuration of embedded development tool and the detail porting implementation are discussed. At last, the last charpter gives the summary of the whole paper and indicates the advantages, disadvantages and some suggestions for the further research on the porting of CRTOS II.
