With the fast development of digital technology, the new media has been undergoing constant innovations. The new media characterized with outstanding openness, inter-activeness, and low operational advantages, has received immediate and favorable recognitions among the public. Since the birth of the new media, the public are enabled with easy access to news and more people take part in news reporting. This change breaks the monoply of the traditional mass media and witnesses the passive recipient evolve to be the active operator in news reporting."Citizen Journalism" emerges from this background, still young but undoubtedly robust. Its growth is lead and determined by the technology. Besides, many factors, such as intrinsic deficiency and backward facilities precondition its bumpy way of development."Crisis" features suddenness, uncertainty and destructiveness. In recent years, social crisis happens frequently. This is a result of the deepening social contradictions in the process of social development."SARS" event in2003induces "crisis reporting" that becomes increasingly important in nowadays. In the new media context, this crisis is easier accessible to the public. But the new media is a double-edged sword which brings the crisis reporting a favorable platform as well as many problems.This paper is focused on "citizen journalism" and "crisis dissemination" in terms of their definitions and status quo, through the comparison between crisis dissemination and ordinary dissemination, to analyze the citizen journalism’s influence on crisis dissemination under the new media environment. Focus on the cause of that in today’s social media background, the citizen journalism aggravates more and more false news, making further efforts to explain the false and dishonest performance and harm, and then put forward corresponding countermeasures.
