SNMP-based Mobile Office Platform Design And Implementation Of Environmental Monitoring

Networking and intelligentization of office environment brings convenience andefficiency, and requires higher level monitoring of the office environment security. Theoffice environment security not only contains the traditional items such as anti-theft,anti-fire but also involves status of power supply, office device, and software services.The key elements of the office environment security need to be integrated into a unifiedmonitoring platform, which is urgent and necessary for automation and informatization.In this thesis, an office environment security mobile monitoring platform isdesigned. First, requirement analysis is made through investigating the department’sneeds, and secondly the design goals of the platform are determined, and finally thesystem architecture and process design are given based upon Cacti, RRDTool,Net-SNMP, VLC and other open source software. The implementation process isachieved, including the deployment of LAMP architecture, Cacti installation, SNMPdevice data collection and graphical display, real-time surveillance camera signals andSMS alarm function. SNMP device data acquisition and graphical display includes theimplementation process of monitoring UPS, temperature and humidity, servers andswitches. Real-time surveillance camera signal contains real-time streaming mediaserver-side publishing and real-time WEB playing, both computer and mobile terminaldevices are supported. The test results show that monitoring charts of UPS, temperatureand humidity sensors, switches, OA servers, database servers are simple and intuitive,and all data and surveillance camera signals can be viewed in real time through thecomputer and mobile terminal. Overall, platform design goals are achieved and thedepartment needs are basically met.The monitoring platform integrates key elements into a unified management of theoffice environment security. User can check all monitoring items including surveillancevideo through a web management console on the mobile phone, which brings real-timeconvenience. Platform integrates a variety of high-quality open source software, whichbrings more development efficiency than developing all services from the ground, andthe stability of the platform can be ensured. Extending Cacti by plug-in mode ensures that further maintenance can take full advantage of the open source Cacti community,and has good scalability. The platform uses streaming media technology to broadcastsurveillance camera video signal to ensure smooth and stable real-time view.
