Research And Application Of The Network Monitoring System Based On SOA

In the current world science technology is in rapid development and information technology is altering from day to day. With the rapid development of network technology and its wide application in education, monitoring systems which are used to monitor website and network devices have become the inevitable outcome of network development. How to choose an appropriate monitoring platform, which can assist daily network management, increase the efficiency of network management, and improve the quality of network services, has become the problem of common concern in network staffs of colleges, enterprises and government agencies. However, the price of most commercial platforms on the market is so high that a lot of colleges can't afford. In allusion to the situation, it is necessary to introduce the idea of open source monitoring platform. According to the practical situation of Suzhou Institute of Trade & Commerce, self-developed website monitoring system and management platform of network monitoring system based on open source software Cacti are attempted to be used in network monitoring in this subject.Website monitoring system and Cacti network monitoring software are analyzed in this subject. According to the data monitored by the system, the paper analyzed the data by professional software and presented an improved solution. By satisfying the demands of the monitoring, report and notification, and combining leveling up and analysis, a new development mode is adopted in website monitoring system to guarantee the reliability and security of website. It is divided into four parts. The website monitoring system and Cacti network monitoring software are described in these parts. In addition, various functional modules of the systems are introduced in details. According to the practical situation of Suzhou Institute of Trade & Commerce, the systems analyzed the results of the monitoring and presented a solution. Moreover, the research and application of network monitoring system based on open source software Cacti has been approved and initiated a project in Suzhou Institute of Trade & Commerce in April, 2010.
