The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is world-famous food giant, which hasthousands years of diet culture and great food market. With the rapid development ofeconomy in recent decades, significant increase in per capita income and living standard,people’s lifestyle makes great changes, most important of which is the catering service.Accordingly, the traditional manual to the catering service mode can not meet thedemands of the new age.With the rapid development and popularization of information technology,information technology is becoming more and more mature, information productsconstantly updated and improved, information service has been further specification,and most people get used of information service. Facing the entire society all links ingradually the trend of information reform, how to apply the theory, technology, andmethod of information in the catering industry is the important problem that the industrymanagers must consider and resolve.This paper is based on the development of intelligent service system for a chainrestaurant. According to the current situation of the development of small andmedium-sized catering enterprises’ problems, we in-depth study of the shortcomings oftraditional management mode, combining the existing information service theory andapplication, and put forward "manager layer–employee layer-customer layer" dataflow model, and according to this model combined with the existing infrastructuredesign and implementation of a small and medium-sized catering industry "centralserver (including database)-wireless device-terminal" as one of the intelligentservice system. All of the information devices in the system communicate throughwireless LAN medium, and choose C/S model platform architecture, which is composedof a central server and database, thin terminal, wireless handheld terminal, terminalprinter and cashier terminal, and finally set up a full range of interactive intelligentservice system. This paper will introduce the design and development of the SW worksin ordering terminal which plays the most important role in the whole system, and theSW links up the center server and all other terminals of the system efficiently, and introduces the Bluetooth to control the client display. Through the simulation results,it’s proved that this system plays a good effect in saving operation cost, improvingservice efficiency, improving service quality, reducing and customer disputes,strengthen management and customer communication.
