In recent years, online restaurant ordering is becoming more and more fashionable with the improvement of people’s living standard and the popularization of computer network. The traditional catering industries have been greatly developed in the field of network with the large population of Online Shopping. The online restaurant reservation and group purchase are two typical applications of network in catering services.Catering service platform which serves local people in specific area has distinct regional characteristics. Although the platform is limited in specific area, the view traffic is heavy. However, through the market survey, we found that there is few successful catering service platform and there exists many factors on this problem. There are lots of catering companies online, but it’s not convenient to found a special one which meets the customers’ special needs. In these days, the catering service platform is just an advertising platform. You can only fine brief induction with less information about the businesses on net pages, and they can’t really get involved in the construction of network platform. Furthermore, the information of catering service can’t be updated timely, so consumers can’t get the latest information correctly. Network ranking of the catering service can’t be updated in time according to the changes of sales information. This reduces the probability of using the search engine for information by customers.In this thesis, catering service management system is designed by using.Net software development platform according to the method of software engineering and the sqlserver2005 database. Through the system, it makes it applicable for small and medium-sized cities to manage catering service, strengthens the interaction between businesses and consumers directly, completes the "display" platform to "functional" platform, realizes many functions such as catering business registration, information management and distribution, online reservation, SMS reservation, electronic menu, consumer reviews, recruitment and employment, etc. It makes it a reality that locating the carting businesses according to menu map, especially with combination of the use of cookies and database of electronic menu and preferential security code. This brings great convenience to consumers. In addition, considering the popularity of smart phones for mobile client, this thesis brings out a reliable solution for them.This thesis is from the actual project requirements and it provides a good reference for the construction of similar system. The catering service system is operational and it improves the enthusiasm of the people who are involved in the construction of the system.
