This subject originated from an important project of Guangqi Honda Automobile Co.,Ltd, which is about a production line’s equipment modification in automobile assembly workshop. Focus on the process of engrave the automobile’s ID card, this paper designs automobile’s ID card’s engraving machine structure and cylinder transplanting mechanism, applies servo control system to control engraved automobile’s ID card, selectes Mitsubishi Q06series programmable controller to make the machine work in order, and uses VB6.0programming to accomplish human-computer interface and monitor ID card’s engraving machine’s work. After the live debugging and operating, the entire system can fully realize the function of automatic engraving, manual engraving and on-line monitoring. Meanwhile it can satisfy every index of the production’s requirements.This design adopts VB6.0software to program a operation interface, drives the events by MSComm control to complete the communication work, exchanges data with PLC and realizes the input operation and data presentation and achieves the control of the machine’s operation by using PLC to control the pneumatic system’s electromagnetic value and output the operation pulse to servo system. Using AC servo system to realize the position control while the ID card is carving; controlled by cylinder transmission principle, it makes the automobile’s ID card’s shifting positioning come true.Based on the analysis of the process, servo control technology and operability about the automobile’s ID card’s engraving, it designs the overall scheme of the machine’s mechanical structure, cylinder shifting mechanism and electrical control system, and gives the servo controller parameters. The PLC program list is given by analysis the control system PLC’s ladder diagram programming ideas, uses VB6.0software to program the control interface and provides the method of the interface’s design.Install and debug the machine, then test the index of cylinder transplanting positioning accuracy, ID card’s engraved accuracy and quality. After that, it can be put into the production use. The result of live test shows that the automobile’s ID card’s engraving machine which applied with the design in this paper has the following features:high control precision, easy and intuitive operation, good reliability and high production efficiency. The machine’s every performance index can meet the design’s requirements and the quality of the machine is guaranteed. Now it has been put in use in the industry.Therefore, the structural design and control scheme in this paper can be used for reference in similar industrial design, and it provides a new approach to the automobile’s ID card’s engraving and control.
