The electro-hydraulic servo system has been applied in many fields because of its large force outputs and quick response. It was also applied in tube-edge-cutting control system in this paper. As to electro-hydraulic servo system, ignoring some nonlinear factors such as backlash and dead zone, it was still nonlinear because of the nonlinear servo valve throttle equation .The time-varying disturbance and strong coupling also made the system nonlinear. The approximately linearization of the model round work-point in liner theory is reasonable only when input signal varies in a small range. However when input signal varies in a large range system nonlinear factors can not be ignored. Nonlinear control theory was applied to propose mathematical model and control according to the system's nonlinearity. Main work was done as below:1. As to the valve controlled symmetrical cylinder, the method of approximately linearization of the model round work-point was used and applied classic PID theory to system to simulate.2. As to the valve controlled unsymmetrical cylinder PID theory was directly applied in the nonlinear model and built up the actual model in SIMULINK to simulate.3. Applied nonlinear theory in both the valve controlled unsymmetrical cylinder model and the valve controlled symmetrical cylinder model to simulate. Simulations show that when applied nonlinear theory in system, the controlsystem's performance was enhanced compared to pure classical control theory. DCS (Distribution Control System) is applied in practical project. Many functions such as close-control, man-machine conversation, alarm, database storage were realized by industrial computer. Another feature of this paper is introducing OPC technology, a standard interface in automation ,to make the connection between PC and S7-300 PLC.
