The Bolster Spring is an important part of railway track bogies. Its main role is to reduce the impact of train among different components as well as the train and railway line in the process of running; it bears and transfers the vehicle quality, avoid the additional load caused by vehicle vibration. It’s the optimization and important component to ensure traffic safety.With the development of design and manufacturing level in railway vehicles. The railway traffic safety problem in our country is further attention. The mounting surface of Bolster Spring is an important supporting point of the trains, its assembly height difference directly affects the load distribution on bogie wheel and the performance of vehicle. For railway vehicle weight from dozens to hundreds of tons, even if the height difference of bolster spring mounting surface was controlled in the millimeter range, the effect on bogie wheel load distribution will also calculated be ton. Therefore, it is particularly important to match bolster spring for free height. The railway ministry issued regulations in1999, that in the bolster spring selection, the free height difference should not exceed2mm, including the same group of7sets of springs and the same set of springs (both inside and outside the spring). In order to ensure the safe running of railway tracks, detection and matching of bolster spring must also meet higher requirements. In this paper, it designed a detecting and sorting system based on laser scanning measurement principle for spring free height, achieve the fast and high-precision automatic detection and sorting. The main research contents of this paper:1, Described the principle of laser scanning measuring method, and designed a set of suitable dynamic measurement device according to this principle. Determined the motion model of the measuring platform and the operation flow of the system;2, Researched and designed a kind of control system for automatic detecting and sorting work; determined the control flow and the corresponding elements;3, Prepared a set of PC management software by Lab VIEW. The main functions are:personnel management, data acquisition, data analysis, data sorting and data storage, serial communication, PCI card digital input and output programmer;4, Made a detailed error analysis and experimental data analysis of the measurement system. Calculated the overall system error, the measuring accuracy of the system is higher than the minimum design accuracy of the work-piece measurement system requires. The experimental data verified the reliability of the measurement system and the results meet the design requirements.
