With the rapid development of Ningbo Polytechnic College, it has become the model college in vocational colleges recent year. With the popularization and development of computer technology, the world has stepped into a new era of information, and management information system has found an increasingly wide utilization in all fields of the college, especially applied to college instrument and equipment management. Nowadays, with the increasing expansion of college enrollment, improving the rationality of the instrument and equipment has become an urgent problem in the management of colleges. It is necessary to establish instrument and equipment management information system to suit for the Ningbo Polytechnic College in order to bring more benefits and reduce the waste of teaching instrument and equipment and unlawful appropriation as much as possible.This paper just takes instrument and equipment management of Ningbo Polytechnic College as researching background, then put forward the problems which should need to be solved. It also discusses the paper’s research motive and significance. Then it summaries the research present situation of the domestic and foreign. The paper gives a brief review of the author’s research contents、work and contribution. System development methods and related technologies are also be discussed in details. The system is designed with software engineering methods and its principles. And we make the demand analysis of the system including business needs、functional requirement、nonfunctional requirement、 performance requirement and security requirement with flowcharts and work flow diagram. And we got the design of the overall system and function modules including instrument and equipment management、statistical report、label printing、data management、office supplies management、help system and system management by the way of functional decomposition、IPO design and the flow chart. Meanwhile, it describes the design process of the core module in detail, by using of e-r map and database diagram. At the end, the paper summarizes the work of the author and gets a prospect of the further research.
