The Design And Implementation Of Streaming Media Based On RTSP

With the rising popularity of the network and the increasingly rapid development of technology, the network information transmission is no longer limited to text and graphics, but gradually to audio and video formats’ transition. Multimedia transmission in the network will be widely regarded; media server can send the continuous, real-time c multimedia files to user. So the research of streaming media server is very important.Paper studying the VLC as a streaming media server, First of all streaming media related technology is introduced and the RTP, RTCP, RTSP streaming protocol are elaborated,the VLC is simple introduced, VLC as a streaming media server is analysed, management of core modules of the VLC and their workflow are explained; Then the modules which invoked by VLC are analysed and the functions of these modules are introduced, the VLC is cross compiled and transplanted to embedded development board in the Linux system, the function of streaming media server based on RTSP function is achieved; Finally using VLC player to test the function of the streaming media server.
