| During the new media prevailing today，the traditional media is subject to heavychallenge. Especially domestic professional sports newspapers and other traditionalprint media are at a disadvantage about news reports of large football events. However,‘Titan sports’ is admirable because it can fully utilize their existing resources tosucceed in news reports.‘Titan Sports:2012European cup dailies’ is the main object of the author’s study.In this paper, the author makes full use of literature data, mathematical statistics,content analysis, and case study methods. The paper systematically summarized thecharacteristics of news reports of2012European Cup from four following aspects ofnews headlines, news, pictures and layout.After analysis, the conclusions are drawn as follows: Titan Sports launched dailynewspaper during this major football event. The amount of coverage is huge. Most ofnews headlines are single and real titles. A lot of artistic and literal methods areutilized for compiling and editing the news headlines. The manuscripts are originatedfrom multi sources and various balanced genres. Many pictures are utilized but onlysmall space is occupied. Newspaper layout is strict and prudent; the front page ispursuit of strong visual impression and impact, but intensive information layout onother pages. At the same time, this paper analyzed and summarized the major reasonsof Titan Sports successful reports as follows: marketing positioning, professionalnewspaper making, reasonable employing and globalization strategy, etc. By studyand summary of the characteristics of news reports of Titan Sports in2012EuropeanCup, the author hopes that it can provide some guidance and reference for futuredevelopment of other domestic sports newspapers. |
