With3D visualization technologies appearing, the people are able to break through the restrictions in the two-dimensional plane of expression and processing of spatial data information. A more profound understanding of the people in the two-dimensional plane, and the perception of space in the entity,3D technology and GIS technology integration, opens a new situation for the development of the GIS.3DGIS applications in urban infrastructure accelerate the construction of urban digital process and the pipeline as one of the city’s main infrastructure. Pipeline as one of the city’s main infrastructure, bear city information transmission and the energy transmission. However, the pipeline management is to keep up the pace of development of the city, established a3D visualization of a pipeline information system is needed to solve a problem in the digital process of the city.Article first of all related to the visualization study on principle and technology of background knowledge to do simple presentations, analysis and application based on actual demand for the development study on visualization of the purpose and significance of the pipeline.Many experts and scholars at home and abroad in the three-dimensional modeling software,3D modeling and3D visualization done a lot of research, and has made a number of research results in the introduction of this tripartite face of domestic and foreign research status, which were summarized. The main contents of the article can be divided into the following sections:(1) Principles and techniques of data visualization of three-dimensional space. Mainly from the mathematical description and presentation of the data model of the spatial data, three-dimensional model visualization process and3D visualization tools is used to perform in detail.(2) Spatial data visualization using the OpenGL developer tools. Provides an overview of how OpenGL works, as well as in the graphic visualization of the key technology involved in the process (model transformation, perspective transformation, the projection transformation and the viewport transformation), to light and texture also provides detailed instructions.(3) Create the visualization pipeline process. Three-dimensional space of the pipeline is used to extract dxf file, boundary model to build three-dimensional data model of the pipeline. C++language is used to establish the data structure of the pipeline. The cross-section differential method is used to establish the mathematical model of the pipeline, which is proposed for complex pipeline split method, pipeline node calculation method, the last bridge modeling and visualization overtaken by a simple exposition.(4) Petrochemical refinery pipeline is the research object. The refinery pipelines visualization framework uses OpenGL tools in VC++6.0development environment. Factory pipeline is used to extract three-dimensional modeling and visualization process.3D visualization pipeline process from data collection is used to perform the detailed analysis of the problems in the data collection process and solution.Visualize spatial data information technology and means of expression, and related subject areas is also very extensive, practical application is also quite a bit of effort and a lot of work needs to be done.
