| In recent years, the crime news report in metropolis newspapers has made a positive influence on cracking down on illegal activities and crimes and promoting social harmony and stability. Therefore, it conducts the function of social control effectively. However, because of the survival pressure, poor professional quality of media practitioners and other factors, dissemination deviation exists in crime news report such as news entertainment and media trial, which weakens its social control function to some extent, and affects social stability.To make a thorough and overall analysis on the current status of the conduction of the social control function, I selected the metropolis newspaper with a larger circulation and influence,"Jinling Evening News"," Modern Express","Yangtze Evening Post", as the object of study in this paper. And in the study, I mainly used the theory of social control to analyze the current status of the crime news report in the three metropolis newspaper from January to May in2011. Due to the limits of my energy, I focused on the case study of the crime news reports in Jinling Evening News, as well as the crime news reports in Modern Express and Yangtze Evening Post from January to May in2011.On this basis, here are my findings by the case analysis of crime news reports in the three metropolis newspaper from January to May in2011that dissemination deviation such as news entertainment and news infringement exists in crime news reports, which weakened the social control function of crime reports.In order to reduce the dissemination deviation of crime news reports and optimize the social control function of crime news reports, I analyzed the reasons for the dissemination deviation existing in metropolis newspapers in this paper, and put forward some strategies to improve the social control function of crime news reports in metropolis newspapers.Anyhow, in the paper, I made an attempt to realize the self-improvement of the crime news report by strengthening the professional work ethics of the news media and strengthen the working and optimization of the social control function of crime news reports by means of the external factors such as the norms of law, government regulation and audience control. |
