Contact Image Sensor (CIS) is a new image sensor, which appeared in1990s. Itintegrates the light source circuit, so that imaging optical path is short and it can be simplyinstalled to the devices. It makes it possible to reduce the volume of products. We do notneed to adjust the optical path to uniform the signal, because the imaging optical path isshort. So that it is sample to resolve size problem. Therefore, CIS is increasingly applied toimage acquisition and processing system, such as scanners.RMB Money Counter is a recent application of CIS. In GB16999-2010, it requires theRMB Money Counter to have functions for number recognition and image identification. Sowe need to add image acquisition and processing section to RMB Money Counter. By thelimit of volume, CIS is the most appropriate choice of image sensor.On this particular application, image acquisition and processing on RMB MoneyCounter, we designed the system software for image acquisition and processing devicebased-on CIS. We discussed the system architecture and analyzed the whole system, taskschedule and major modules, including dual DSP system data communication based-onSPORT and the host computer communication based-on LAN. The system has advantagessuch as high-speed, real-time, stability, low cost and it needs short development cycle.This subject discussed the system software design for image acquisition and processingon RMB Money Counter, and tried to find a common method on system software design forimage acquisition and processing equipment based on CIS.My research focused on the following aspects:1. Against the specific application of RMB Money Counter, we analyzed therequirements, explained why we chose CIS as the image sensor and chose image processingsystem and embedded operating system.2. We transplanted the uC/OS-II operating system on it, designed tasks and didreal-time analysis. We used the finite state machine in the system design and gave anexample. 3. We did further discussion and analysis of the main modules of the system,including dual DSP system data communication based-on SPORT and the host computercommunication based-on LAN. The dual DSP system data communication sub-system is forthe Master and slave DSPs to coordination and synchronization. The host computercommunication makes it easy for users to read the processing result.
