With the development of wireless networks and the increasing demand on streammedia of people, researching a reliable and efficient wireless streaming mediatransmission protocol stack has important significance. High error is caused due tomultipath fading and other factors, and the relatively narrow channel is the mostprominent problem of wireless channel, especially in streaming media transmission.Streaming media compression provides an efficient way to transmit high date ratewithin narrows bandwidth. However, the compression code eliminates the correlationbetween space and time, which results in more vulnerable data to code error. Thus, weneed simple yet mature way for error control, to enhance the reliability of high ratemedia stream.At first, this paper research and design a new set of streaming media transmissionprotocol stack.Add error control layer above the transport layer below the applicationlayer, which using RS codes and CRC1bit error correction technology to increase thereliability of streaming media data transmission; according to the common peer-to-peernetwork, modifying the TCP/IP protocol by maximization narrowing TCP/IP header,reducing redundancy, and adding packet control layer between the physical layer andthe TCP/IP layer,which using BCH code to protect TCP/IP header. Since the terminalis the DSP, which the ability to calculate is not very strong, needs to maximize theoptimization of the protocol stack procedures to achieve the goal of high efficiency,reliable and simple.Secondly, this paper shows the implement of the error correctioncode, and focuses on the optimization and implementation of DSP-based algorithms.Protocol stack is optimized based on TI TMS320C6416platform, and greatly reducethe running time delay. Using this optimized program to build the hardware simulationplatform, which show the system is capable of streaming media protocol stack, and theprotocol stack meet the real-time requirements of the system.
