With the development of wireless sensor networks, an increasing number ofoccasions need to use wireless technology to replace traditional wiring network in orderto solve complex wiring, poor scalability and maintenance difficult. In many large-scalemonitoring systems, the monitoring of the temperature data is a basic and importantrequirement. This paper depends on this as a starting point, uses the widely applicationof the ZigBee technology in wireless sensor networks to design a temperaturemonitoring system with wireless networking technology to monitoring temperature inwireless measurement area, to achieve temperature uploaded multi-hop and displayed inreal-time.Firstly, this paper presents the overall design of the temperature monitoring systembased on the ZigBee, then realized the node hardware design and software design of thesystem respectively. The system uses a tree-network topology model, and TI’s CC2430is selected by the coordinator node, router nodes and the temperature collection nodes asthe core chip of the temperature monitoring system in wireless communication network.The temperature data are collected by the temperature sensor DS18B20, and multi-hoptransmitted to the coordinator node by way of the router nodes which have been set therouting protocols. The coordinator node processes the collected temperature data anduploads them to the host computer by the serial ports, and the temperature monitoringsoftware on the host computer can real-time display, record and save them.The temperature monitoring system based on the ZigBee in this paper is designedwith the advantages of low complexity, easy deployment, effectiveness and highreal-time, and provide a valuable reference for applications and extensions of wirelesssensor networks based on the temperature monitoring.
