It is often a problem in image display process that the resolution is unmatched. Subpixel-sampling can enhance image’s perceptive resolution and then improve the quality of image display, which means that subpixel-sampling could be a good method in solving the problem of resolution unmatched.Based on the study of the basic theory such as human visual characteristics, color and LCD image display, the paper analyzes subpixel-sampling methods such as DSD and DDSD, and subpixel-sampling process, then studies the characteristics of high perceptive resolution and color errors easily appearing. After that, the paper researches subpixel-sampling algorithms based on frequency domain analysis, edge information, color or image reconstruction, selects the MMSE algorithm based on image reconstruction on one dimensional by comparing the algorithms for the design, and completes its realization using FPGA. Then, the paper designs a subpixel-sampling image display system with the selected algorithm.From the system tests, it is known that the subpixel-sampling image display system could solve the problem of resolution unmatched in image display process, and also has a good quality of image display.
