With the rapid development of the Internet industry,consumer electronic products with display,as the terminal interface between users and the Internet,have become an essential tool for everyone.The performance and quality of the display directly determine the user experience of the consumer electronic product.Its performance and quality inspection has become an important part of display manufacturing process.With the coming of industry 4.0,automation and digitalization are the inevitable development trend of modern industrial production mode.The traditional method of visual inspection using human eyes has been phased out of the screen display industry.The automatic inspection method and equipment based on digital image processing has been widely used at electrical consumer products factory.At present,the automatic inspection method and equipment used in display manufacturers still has a lot room for improvement in testing efficiency,testing accuracy,testing consistency and testing repeatability.To solve the problems we encountered in mass production,we studied display performance measurement,display defect inspection,and designed a testing system including optical system,software system,hardware system and image processing algorithms.First of all,the concept of optical design and the selection of optical equipment are researched.The traditional optical inspection device only has the camera to take images for analyzing.Measuring color and brightness of the display based on the images is not accurate and has big variation.Compared to the traditional optical testing system,we integrated a spectrometer and a camera to one system.The spectrometer can measure and analyze the display color and brightness of accuracy,and taking images by the camera can be used to detect display defects.This system highly improves the utilization ratio of the equipment and the inspection efficiency,reduces the requirement for the production space and the number of human workers,and finally reduces the production cost of the display manufacturing enterprise.Secondly,the functional modules of this inspection system and setup procedures are defined,analyzed and integrated.The innovation of this system includes a turntable platform with multiple inspection positions which can finish loading and testing at the same time.It greatly improved inspection efficiency.Based on this system,the method of how to reduce the equipment setup difference caused inspection variation is also studied.It's very helpful to reduce the yield loss and retest rate in mass production.Finally,the method of display performance and image processing algorithm are studied.Focusing on the correlation of human eyes to the test result from this system,the algorithm threshold and various parameters are defined and fine-tuned,so that the inspection results are closer to the intuitive perception of the human eyes.This inspection system has been used in mass production,overall saved certain human resource.And the display manufacturers feedback that the system is efficient,stable,and capable to capture the defective products.Overall it meets mass production requirement.
