The main purpose of this research is to design a UML-based computer networkcurriculum teaching system that could be applied in auxiliary teaching practice in ourcollege. In view of the hardware software condition and the actual teaching situationhere, we attempted to save the cost and adopt a more feasible way in the research, andto improve the system constantly in the actual application after the fulfillment of itsdesign and development. A set of modules including homepage information,curriculum resources management, online tests, and online exchange were finallydesigned and developed, according to the main requirements obtained from previousteaching practice, analysis and summarization. Through specific application of thesystem, teaching means and teaching efficiency have been greatly enhanced; teachersare to take part in the teacher-student exchange in online forums so that students’needs are known and teaching can be conducted accordingly. In addition, students’interest in attending class can be largely improved and revision can be carried outtimely. Online forum can be a platform for teacher-student exchange after class,through which resources can be shared and questions be resolved promptly.The paper focuses on the design scheme of computer network curriculumteaching platform based on the use of J2EE architecture design, and the master plan ofthe system structure, work flow, system function, data structure and other aspects andtheir detailed design and realization. In the system architecture, the system adopts B/S three layer structure, using the JavaBean, JSP and other techniques for the design ofthe page, and uses JavaBean on the key procedure code package with considerationfor the system security and code reusability considerations. It uses Myeclipse6.5software tools for code composition, SQL Server2000for database, the final systemthrough the Tomcat server for release. The system has three kinds of identities: student, teacher and administrator, eachwith different permissions, and corresponding operation accordingly. The systemrealized updated course-related information release in homepage, online coursewareresource management, online instruction and communication; and enabled students toview the latest information, download related resources, browse course requirementsand weekly knowledge points online examination and communication as well aschecking results online through this platform.
