The momentum of the development of information and networking technology brings revolution to all kinds of industries, and also accelerates the evolution of the market. Facing these changes, the whole process of software product development is in need of optimization, which can enable more flexibility to market demands, as well as shorter time-to-market, so as to grab advantages in the fierce competition. Software testing, as one of the crucial parts in software development cycle, is facing unprecedented challenges in the changing environment. Test engineers need to execute extensive tasks within a very short period of time; hence the conflict between the adequacy of testing coverage and the time limit pushes the birth of a more effective testing methodology. Agile software development is a new methodology that builds up high-efficiency platform for project management, and the necessary pools of testing and management techniques. By applying the new model, development teams are capable of quickly adapting to changes and thus making adjustments, in order to fundamentally resolve the problems and difficulties currently exist. Among all the methods used in agile software development, Scrum is one of the most important models. Scrum employs iteration, planning, review and other techniques to establish a real-time testing and decision-making processes. Scrum also characterized by the "people-oriented" features, which focuses on the intercommunication and interdependency among team members. This dissertation firstly summarizes and compares the traditional testing approaches, and then presents a new testing model based on the characteristics of Scrum agile testing model. A thorough analysis on the new Scrum-based model, and its practice and applicable scenarios are also presented.
