With the in-depth development of the information society, information expands at an amazing rate. The urgent problem is how to manage information and data conveniently and effectively so that their potential value could be fully utilized. Since the traditional shortcomings of the data processing system based on the file system and database management system, both of these two systems cannot solve the problem. Fortunately, the Content Management System (CMS) provides an effective solution to this problem. However, CMS is not perfect and there is still a need for improvement. In the above context, the thesis first introduces CMS related concepts and popular CMS tools, focusing on the key technologies and research status, which supports a CMS. And then according to the development of CMS application the author is responsible for, discuss two points of CMS improvements, respectively, making CMS better to cope with multiple data sources integration and page-based content publishing.Design and verification on both of the two improvements are made in the next section. The defect of multiple data sources integration in CMS are discussed and illustrated in detail firstly. And then the thesis introduces a general solution based on web service and discusses the specific design and corresponding technologies based on SharePoint BCS, focusing on a number of a key mechanisms and implementations. Finally, the test configuration steps are introduced and demonstrated the feasibility of this improvement and the validity and reliability of several key modules of the program on the basis of experiment.Regarding to the deficiency of the page-based content publishing of CMS, similarly, a detailed description with example is made in the beginning, and then proposed a universal solution, introducing the concept of Page ID added in the content type of page-based content, which connects the web component and backend content. After that, the thesis discusses the design and implementation of various modules based on SharePoint, including a page ID parser that makes publishing more efficient. Finally, the instruction to deploy and configure the solution is given and experiments verified the feasibility of the improvement. This thesis presents a general multiple data source integration model which uses caching, multi-threads and connection pool technologies, making the system faster, more reliable. It could help companies solve the problems encountered in the migration from business system to CMS. Page-based dual role publish model inherits the advantages of the traditional dual role publishing system, well adapting to the changing in requirement of page design. It could have a good practical value.
