In order to measure three-dimensional feature of the car in automobileproduction line, the paper intends to design an embedded visual sensor which can beapplied to examine the parameters of gap surface. The sensor meets the application offield measurement, which can be hand-held and the sensor provides a new means tocontrol the quality. We use the linear optical method in embedded system to recordthe three-dimensional contour of the objects surface, which is based on the opticaltriangulation model. The sensor realizes image acquisition, process and transmission.Firstly the paper states the measurement principle of the sensor, which is basedon the linear optical triangulation model to get the geometry correspondence.UsingCMOS the sensor gets the measure purpose of no-contact.Secondly we build hardware device of the image acquisition system, which isincluded by imaging sensor, CPU, communication module and power system. Thepaper realizes the function test with the requirements of low-power consumption andhigh-precision.Thirdly using embedded system, we accomplish the software environmentwhich is structured by ARMv7-A and C64x+DSP. On that basis, the transplant ofLinux operating system into OMAP3530is finished. Even more, we proceed todevelop and debug the image driver, which make the hardware system function well.With experiments of real-time image acquisition, we discuss load analysis and systemoptimization in detail.In the end repeated measurement of the standard workpiece is done and datastabilization is compared. The improvement program is proposed. We discover theinfluence factor of deviation, which makes it possible for future study.
