Design And Implementation Of Device Software Driver For Epson-based Large-format Image Capturing System

The CCD image sensor and scan controller are the core of the large format sanner,and only a grasp of these two core technology can we deveop a high-performance,high-quality and high-speeding professional scanner.This paper, combined with the advantages and disadvantages of traditionalscanner, breakthrough the bottleneck, that the speed of scan and transmission of data istoo slow. The device software driver of a format-changeable image capturing system isdesigned based on the new type of high-performance scan controller―Epson Chip‖under embedded Linux. This is satisfied with all kinds of comp lex requirements of thelarge format sanner. The speed of transmission combined with USB2.0agreement isincreased greatly. The image processing, that is very important, carrys out thecollection, organization and transmission of image data, by using a new type of datastructure and command structure. Through a lot of experiments, an original andreasonable image correction is developed.In this paper, the implementation of device driver under linux is presenteddetailed, and confirms the feasibility and effectivity of the new design with a lot ofexperiments and data.
