Automatic Test System is a branch of discipline, which is developing very rapidly,one of the most important sign is the test system bus. Due to the lack of Ethernet LXIbus be able to successfully overcome a variety of traditional test bus, promising to playa very big role in our future model testing techniques. IEEE1588is a very importantfeature of the LXI bus in industrial automation, power automation, and multi-sensornetworks, played a significant role. It enables a variety of different network accuracy,resolution and stability of the clock synchronization up, take up minimal networkresources and the resources of the local machine, but it enables the network to achievesub-microsecond synchronization accuracy.Firstly, a brief description of the whole operation process of the IEEE1588protocol.The system introduces a number of the content of this Agreement, including the clockmodel, data sets, as well as event handling, and best master clock algorithm, alsodescribed the core idea of the agreement, and agreement terms, concepts and otherdetails were made in detail.The internal structure of the IEEE1588protocol hardware timestamp that explainthe structure and role of the division of the modules and each module IEEE1588protocol to PTP message frame in FPGA hardware timestamp, to the IEEE1588protocolsynchronization accuracy requirements. Describes the structure of the test platform usedby this project, and then briefly the concepts and features of SOPC and NIOS II system,and then used for this subject, module one by one to make explanations.Finally, to build a good PTP message of NiosII system to send, receive, and use thePC to test the correctness of the PTP messages sent.
